The Merryweather Damson is a traditional English fruit that is perfect for cooking with.

It is larger than other varieties of Damson and is a lot easier to work with. The blue-black skinned fruit packs an acidic punch in it's juicy yellow flesh, and is not too good to eat raw.

Once cooked it makes the best jams and jellies and is also a very popular filling for pies and crumbles.

A reliable tree that produces small white flowers in early April and a good heavy crop of fruit, ready for picking in late August/September.

  • The Merryweather Damson tree is a self pollinating variety.
