The Oak Tree is considered sacred to most major cultures but was held in particular high esteem to the Celts. The Oak tree is known as the ’Father of the Woods’ possibly due to its size, strength and longevity. Celtic weddings often took place beneath an Oak tree. Druids belief that Mistletoe was in its most sacred form when growing amongst the branches of an Oak tree.
Doors were often made of Oak wood as this was thought to protect the home from evil.

- Large branches of this the English Oak tree rise from a short trunk to form a massive crown - rising to 115ft (35m).
- The leaves of the Oak tree are alternate and almost stalkless with small "ears" at the base of the leaf and four or five lobes on each side.
- Acorns from the English Oak tree often grow in pairs on long stalks (distinguishing it from the Sessile Oak).
- Oak trees have been used for ship building for centuries with high quality furniture still using the strong wood of the English Oak today.

Placing an order with Tree2mydoor
Once you buy a tree2mydoor gift, you can include a greetings card along with your own personal message. You can select a target delivery date when you place an order. We will normally dispatch your order one day before your target delivery date. (Monday to Thursday). Orders over £50 qualify for free delivery.
Delivery options
This product can be delivered by 1st Class Royal Mail postage (standard) or by next day courier service (premium). Deliveries are undertaken between Tuesday and Saturday each week. Saturday deliveries incur an extra surcharge.
