Pine was once known as the 'Sweetest of the Woods' and was said to symbolise fertility.
The Scots Pine Tree is native to Scotland and is a favourite with many families at Christmas time.
This Little Lady can grow to around 36m after 10 years although will keep nicely in a pot for the first 2-3 years.

Elder Tree
Sambucus nigra

The Elder Tree has always been considered to be the 'Protective Tree' and its wood was used to make wands to drive out evil. Music played on instruments made of Elder, such as panpipes or flutes, was thought to have the same power as wands and would protect the home from negative influences. The Elder produces berries in the Autumn and sweet smelling flowers in the Spring and the aroma of Elder flowers are said to deter flies from the garden.
Today Elderberries are still used for making jam, wine and cordial.
