Wedding gifts planned for Jenni - 12/08/09

The crew of ITV`s breakfast television show GMTV will be thinking about what wedding gifts to give to presenter Jenni Falconer after she announced her engagement to fiance James Midgley.

The actor whisked the Scotland-born 33-year-old away to New York for an "incredibly romantic" surprise proposal last weekend.

Presenter Jenni said: "It was incredibly romantic and was a gorgeous, warm evening; the lights of Manhattan shone in the distance and we had a band playing live music on a boat.

"I'd been laughing so much all evening, I was genuinely surprised by James's proposal. I did hope I'd be romanced, but never expected a gesture like this. In saying that, I was delighted to be asked - and of course my answer was a definite yes."

Fellow GMTV host Kate Garraway hit the headlines last month when she had her second child with Labour activist-turned-psychotherapist Derek Draper.

The baby boy, named William Garraway Draper, is the 42-year-old presenter's first son and joins her three-year-old daughter, Darcey.
