Special gift idea for Father's Day - 18/05/09

If you're stuck for ideas as to what special gift to give your dad this Father's Day, it could be worth considering treating him to a visit to Goodwood for this year's Festival of Speed.

The event, being held from 3-5 July, is the world's biggest celebration of the history of motor sport and giving your dad this unusual gift will allow him to see some of his favourite motor sport heroes in action.

Highlights of the weekend will include a race against the clock on the challenging 1.16-mile Goodwood Hill, and the theme of this year's festival is 'True Grit ? Epic Feats of Endurance'.

The theme celebrates the drive and determination of motor racing's heroes who overcame huge physical, mental and mechanical barriers in their quest for glory.

Competition drivers and riders appearing over the weekend include current F1 stars Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button along with big names in WRC, World Superbikes, NASCAR and other motor sport categories, including Mark Webber, Allan McNish and David Coulthard.

Also taking part will be Sirs Stirling Moss and Jackie Stewart alongside legends such as Jacky Ickx, Damon Hill, Rusty Wallace and Hannu Mikkola.
