Penelope ducks wedding gifts rumour - 19/11/09

Wedding gifts may be on the horizon for Hollywood star Penelope Cruz - but she has refused to confirm engagement rumours.

The Vicky Cristina Barcelona actress began dating co-star Javier Bardem in 2007, but avoided probing questions about their relationship on The Late Show With David Letterman in the US.

Celebrity website People.com reported Cruz, 35 said: "I don't feel comfortable talking about my private life in public."

When the talk show host pressed her further, she refused to give in.

"I've been here a few times with you, you know I'm tough. One thing I don't do, I don't lie about my personal life," she said. "It's sacred to me. It's my life. But I don't give details about it because I am allergic to that."

Letterman eventually gave up, but as a parting shot said: "So you know, but you don't want to tell me." She smiled and replied: "I know, but I choose not to share some things!"
