Oldest man receives birthday gifts - 22/09/09
The world's oldest man celebrated his 113th birthday sharing cake and receiving awards.
Walter Breuning gave a brief talk before blowing out candles, opening birthday gifts and sharing cake during the party at the Rainbow Retirement Community in Great Falls, Montana.
The American also met guests including Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer at the invitation-only celebration, KRTV-TV reported.
He was honoured with several awards. A $10,000 (£6,147) cheque from Scottish Rite Temple members was given to him, which Mr Breuning donated to the Childhood Language Disorder Clinic in Great Falls.
Attributing his lengthy life to eating well, physical and mental activity, he also said he took one aspirin a day.
Mr Breuning was born on September 21, 1896, in Melrose, Minnesota, and moved to Montana in 1918. He worked for the railway for 50 years.
