Memorial gifts at Floyd's funeral - 01/10/09
The eventful life of TV chef Keith Floyd has been commemorated at his humanist funeral by family and friends.
The convivial 65-year-old died of a heart attack at his partner's home in Dorset, just months after he had been diagnosed with bowel cancer.
Guests brought memorial gifts to Bristol's Ashton Court Mansion, based in the city where he was first discovered by the BBC after working as a journalist for the Bristol Evening Post.
Floyd, who was born to a working-class family, joined the army before opening Floyd's Bistro in Bristol at the age of just 22.
Next month will see the launch of his latest autobiography, Stirred But Not Shaken, in which he discusses his battles with drink.
Floyd married four times, and leaves a son from his first marriage and a daughter from his second. He was said to have enjoyed a last meal of oysters and partridge, with champagne, before his death.
