Lavish wedding gifts for Andrea Corr - 24/08/09
Singer Andrea Corr has married stockbroker Brett Desmond at a star-studded bash in a quiet Irish village.
With U2's Bono and golfer Padraig Harrington on the guest list, the happy couple are likely to have been showered with extravagant wedding gifts.
Villagers watched on as a string of famous faces arrived at St Joseph's Church in Miltown Malbay, Co Clare, helping celebrate the country's society wedding of the year.
However, they might have been starting to think it was going to end in tears when the bride arrived 30 minutes late.
But Bono and his wife kept crowds happy turning up in a show stopping Italian Maserati sports car, which risked stealing the show.
On her arrival the singing star calmly strolled into church waving to hundreds of cheering fans.
Her new husband is the son of billionaire businessman and entrepreneur Dermot Desmond and has a major shareholder in Celtic football club.
Hundreds of fans lined the roads up to the church to catch a glimpse of the stars, which included former Celtic managers Gordon Strachan and Martin O'Neill, comedian Patrick Kielty and the other members of the former singing group The Corrs.
