Engagement gifts for world champ Jenson - 21/10/09

Apart from professional success, Formula one world champion Jenson Button may have more to celebrate on the personal front, with a possible engagement to his girlfriend.

The Brazilian Grand Prix winner had earlier hinted that he was on the verge of popping the question to girlfriend Jessica Michibata "towards the end of the year".

Jessica too suggested something similar. She told the Daily Telegraph before the 24-year-old won the race: "If Jenson wins the title, we will celebrate and it will be by him getting down on one knee."

While Jenson was focused on his race, the Japanese model was away working. The couple, who have been together for a year, are looking forward to their reunion.

The couple are meeting in Dubai, before Jenson returns to the driver's seat for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on November 1.

Jenson, from Somerset, said: "I've been telling her 'Come on honey, you can get off work, I want to see you now'."

"But she can't - she's working. I'll see her Friday and I can't wait."

However, Jenson's associates said that there was no immediate plan for an engagement.
