Engagement gifts due for Walliams - 21/01/10

Little Britain star David Walliams is set to wed Dutch supermodel Lara Stone, it has been confirmed.

Engagements gifts were heading the couples' way after a spokeswoman for Walliams, 38, confirmed he had proposed to the Vogue cover girl.

The comedian, best known for his television sketches in partnership with Matt Lucas, has been dating Stone, 25, since last year.

He is said to have popped the question in Los Angeles last week after getting the blessings from her parents in Holland.

The Sun newspaper quoted him as saying: "It's true, we're engaged and blissfully happy... I wasn't planning to make a public announcement because I am not a royal - yet."

Stone was reportedly presented with a vintage engagement ring and the couple are currently spending time together in Brazil. The Dutch beauty is modelling at Sao Paolo Fashion Week.

Walliams has previously been linked with several actresses and models, including Lisa Snowdon and Abi Titmuss.
