Cowell gives 'ironic' birthday gift - 29/07/09

One of Simon Cowell's ex-lovers received a shock birthday gift when the X Factor judge sent her a blown up portrait of his face.

Old flame Jackie St Clair was attending a joint 50th birthday bash for herself and Cowell, who said that the 6ft by 5ft portrait was given "with irony". The egocentric birthday gift was wrapped in gold paper.

The party was attended by a number of Cowell's ex-girlfriends including model Terri Seymour and former pop star Sinitta.

Cowell's fellow talent show judges Amanda Holden, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh appeared at the white-themed cocktail party along with other celebrity pals Anthea Turner and Myleene Klass.

Britain's Got Talent acts Stavros Flatley and Darth Jackson performed at the celebration at Jackie's west London home

Cowell told the Daily Mirror: "It was a fun night -there were a few ex-girlfriends there, yes, but it was all fine.

"I went on my own - well, with my mum - and had no say over the guest list. It was all organised by Jackie."
