Baby gifts needed for DJ Jamie - 30/09/09

Friends and family of the broadcaster Jamie Theakston will be shopping for baby gifts after the radio DJ announced live on air that his wife had given birth to a baby boy.

Speaking to his Heart Breakfast co-host Harriet Scott this morning, Jamie, 38, said: "We've decided to call him Kit, not after the Knight Rider car, you understand."

The presenter added he had played an important role in the delivery room - being told off by his wife.

"My support was absolutely vital, as you can probably imagine," he said.

"I got told off quite a lot, not only by my wife but also by the midwife, but it all went remarkable smoothly and I can't wait for him to meet you all."

The baby is the couple's second child.
