Baby gifts for The Bill actress - 03/06/09

Stars of popular ITV police drama The Bill will no doubt be taking time out from filming to hunt for baby gifts after colleague Claire Goose announced she is expecting her first child.

The 34-year-old, who is married to TV producer Craig Woodrow, is six months pregnant and the baby is due in August.

Claire told the Daily Mail that she welcomed pregnancy: "I absolutely love being pregnant. I haven't been sick at all and I love my changing shape - I am going to miss having a bump when the baby is born. It is like a comforter to me."

But it has not all been plain sailing; the actress - who has also starred in Casualty and Waking the Dead - did have cause for concern in February when she was taken to hospital with severe pain, but a 12-week scan showed that everything was fine.

Claire said she plans to return to her role as Sergeant Rachel Weston in The Bill after the baby is born.

She explained: "Having a child doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your whole self. You shouldn't feel you have to give up your dreams because you are a parent."
