Unique gift chance for DiCaprio fans - 16/04/09

American actor Leonardo DiCaprio is offering the chance to win unique gifts for his fans including a walk on a red carpet with him in a bid to raise funds for environmental campaign group Global Green.

Fans of the Titanic star, who is a committed environmentalist and was one of the first celebrities to use a hybrid car, or anyone looking for an unusual gift to buy a friend can bid for the chance to attend the premiere of Martin Scorsese's new film Shutter Island starring Leo and Ben Kingsley.

Bidding for the red carpet event, which includes travel in an eco-car and a stay at a green hotel, and other memorabilia will begin on ebay.com/globalgreen on April 22.

Signed books, DVDs and other items selected by the Oscar nominee will be available and all proceeds will go towards tackling climate change.

Announcing the fundraiser, Leo said: "By bidding on these items people will help Global Green combat climate change and pursue important environmental imperatives, such as greening our nation's schools, housing, cities and more."

He called for individuals, politicians and businesses to take action against climate change and this is the perfect way to help a good cause while having a night to remember.
